"The Dusty Miller", in Gaelic "An Muilleoir faoi Dheannach" or "An Muilleoir Luaitreac"
is an Irish slip-jig in G Major (Breathnach, Cole, McNulty, O'Neill) or D Major (Heymann).
It is also known as "Benny’s Jig", "The Dusty Millar", "Johnny Docherty’s" or
"Top The Candle". The parts are played AB (Breathnach, Heymann, O'Neill/1001) or AABB (O'Neill/1850).
This slip-jig is not the same tune as the "Dusty Miller" which is an American reel.
This tune is printed in Breathnach's Ceol: A Journal of Irish Music, vol. 5, no. 2 (1982),
The Man and His Music (1997), CRÉ 2 (1976) and CRÉ 5 (1999),
Cole's 1000 Fiddle Tunes (1940),
Heymann's Off the Record (1990),

O'Neill's O'Neill's Irish Music (1915),
O'Neill's Dance Music of Ireland: 1001 Gems (1907) and
Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883).
It was recorded by Altan on The Red Crow (1990),
Tommy Keane on The Piper's Apron,
Séamus Ennis on The Return from Fingal (1997),
Ann Heymann & Alison Kinnaird on Harper's Land (1983) and
